Chickmo chronicles 8/20/2014

 This is the report for all the news from Chickmo, it has been a while since I filed a report. 

 It seems that Sister Spotty is no longer Sister. She has left the mission field and crossed over to the dark side. She has also taken up permanent residence on the premises. I believe that she is now the lookout for Reggie and the gang of chickens. She now sleeps on the deck rail of the main sleeping quarters, it is impossible for anyone to leave the building without her seeing it.

 We set up a sting operation.... we had  heard that one of the gang was really a male in the middle of the females! What we found was much more than we bargained for. We were right that one of them was indeed a male, as he simply could not contain his crowing.... he is quite proud of himself. He crows at dawn and all day there after. When we approach the cell he puffs up his feathers and herds the females off to a small area in the cell. None of this was surprising... only confirmation of the sex. 

 When I went out to feed them one of the girls approached me and said in a quite voice... pick me up and hold me near your ear. I did as requested. The tale she told me was eye opening to say the least. It seems that the male inmate is named Guido and that he is trying to become a pimp! He wants to send the girls out to .... well visit other roosters! She said if they refuse he won't let them near the feeder or water. He said he would destroy the chicken spa! He is being very pushy. It seems that he and Spotty are plotting together. Spotty will be slipping the roosters in after dark... I am still not sure what to do to remedy this... the facility is over populated as is. 

 We had another incident with Reggie. Reggie has grown quite large and has a HUGE appetite and well pretty much attacks anyone with food. I am about ready to start sliding it under the door. She pecks. It hurts! We had a visiting guard. Officer Wyatt was here and wanted to participate in the feeding. It was the weekend and we decided that they should have a treat. We got them corn, which is their favorite treat. Office Wyatt carried the bowl of corn and approached Reggie's cage. Reggie will escape giving an inch. She approached Office Wyatt and started to peck the corn and instead pecked the fingers of Office Wyatt. These required lots of love and kisses for the officer. Reggie was put back in her cell and written up for bad behavior. 

 Officer Felipe Navidad and Officer Mollywoggle have been chasing off unwanted visitors. I am setting up a meeting to find out what they are chasing and if it has anything to do with the pimp...

We now tune into the lives of the inhabitants of Los Eggulos .... Reggie still has his security job ... he is in charge of keeping the girls safe and he takes him job very serious. The hens view him as and call him "dad" Guido was talking up Copper... "girl, come on back to my nest box, we can make some eggs" Copper is too smart for that, her dad has told her, to watch out for the slick talking roosters... They are all feathers and no frying! Besides Copper has plans of her own! She intends to go to work at the "Car bomb" factory they feed you for free and you just hang out over the windshields of cars. The Chickmo Chronicles May 6.2014

Incident Report for May 6 I arrived at work this morning and as is my custom, I do a check of the inmates first thing. It was really windy and a bit cool so I decided to simply check from a distance. I watched the multiple inmate cell and there was the normal activity and so I looked over to the solitary cell where Reggie the ring leader is held. She was laying on her side, and wing stretched out. I was VERY concerned and slipping my shoes back on (yes, remove them at work!) I hurried to the cell. I called her name... nothing. I looked and her eyes where closed... I kicked the cell bars and UP she jumped! She looked me straight in the eyes and smiled and said "Oh good morning!" I know that she heard me calling as the other inmates did. The was a ploy to see what I would do.  I told her a story about a little boy that cried wolf. She didn't seem impressed and asked for her breakfast. She and I are going to have a long, hard stretch of time here.  This ends this ...

This is a report from the Chickmo inmate detention center. As I was making my morning rounds it was immediately evident that Reggie, the ring leader, was not in her cell! The door to her cell had been pried open and she slipped out. I found her but she was trying to act all cool, as though her behavior was normal. I walked up to her, cuffed her and returned her to her cell. All the while she was trying to bite me! She was kicking me with her long legs and feet! She was squawking so loud that I couldn't hear what the other hens were saying. Once back in her cell I temporarily fixed it so that she would not be able to escape again, until the head warden can permanently repair the door. At this point I hear Sister Spotty... she is being very loud and appears to be distressed.
